He started his freshman year in 2005 in Landstown, but graduated from Phoebus High School in Hampton, Virginia, and then went to Clemson University in South Calorina, where he played college football. College Career
Tajh was retired for the 2009 season and when he returned the following year he was appointed reserve quarterback. He rounded off the season with 33-of-63 passes for 329 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions.
The following season he took over the role of starter and led his team to a 10-4 record, winning the ACC championship. You could say that 2011 was a successful year for him. The season ended with him passing 298 of 499 passes for 3,828 yards and 33 pass touchdowns. Apart from running for 218 yards and five touchdowns, Tajh was also mentioned as a possible candidate for the 2012 Heisman Trophy.
The following seasons only became more successful than the previous ones. In 2012 he broke the ACC record for the most touchdowns in a single game. He threw five touchdown passes, ran for three more, scored a total of eight touchdowns and made 529 all-purpose yards. He was named MVP of the 2012 Chick-fill-A-Bowl game against LSU Tigers. Tajh was named ACC Player of the Year and AFCA First Team All-American after the season.
In his senior national team year, he set the ACC career touchdown passing record on November 14, 2013. He ended his college career by leading the Clemson Tigers to a 40-35 victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes in the 2014 Orange Bowl.
